Welding Institute of Malaysia (WIM) in collaboration with Welding Alloys (Far East) would like to invite you to attend Technical Seminar on: Challenges of Fabrication and Repair Welding of Duplex Family Stainless Steel
Super Duplex Stainless Steel offers exceptional corrosion resistance and mechanical strength, enabling the construction of lighter yet highly efficient subsea structures within highly corrosive environments. However, the welding of Super Duplex Stainless Steel materials can introduce challenges, such as the formation of undesirable phases when welding parameters are not carefully controlled. Moreover, weld repair processes can lead to detrimental microstructures due to its sensitivity to heating cycles in multi-pass welding. This presentation is aimed at developing knowledge of welding procedures which allows for multiple repairs on heavy-walled welded SDSS pipes.
SPEAKER:
Mr. Sukamal Naskar
- Graduate Metallurgical Engineer and Masters in Welding Engineering, Cranfield
