Welding Institute of Malaysia
A non-profit membership organization formed to raise awareness on the science and practice of welding, joining, cutting and related technologies, and quality in welding workmanship.
- The only major membership organization in Malaysia that is dedicated to welding, joining and allied technologies.
- Affiliated to the Professional Division of The Welding Institute (TWI ), United Kingdom.
- The sole representative of Malaysia in the International Institute of Welding (IIW).
- A Full Member of the Asian Welding Federation (AWF).

- 15 years experience in welding, joining, inspection or related technologies, including 3 years in a management role or
- In possession of a qualification/certification in welding, joining or related technology with 10 years experience, including 3 years in a management role, or
- Fellow of The Welding Institute ,United Kingdom (FWeldI)
Member (MWIM)
RM 200/year
One-time Entrance Fee of RM 20, bringing the Total Fee to RM 220.
- 10 years experience in welding, joining, inspection or related technologies, or
- In possession of a qualification/certification in welding, joining or related technology with 5 years experience, or
- Senior Member (SenMWeldI), Member (MWeldI) or Incorporated Member (IncMWeldI) of The Welding Institute ,United Kingdom
Associate Member (AMWIM)
RM 150/year
One-time Entrance Fee of RM 20, bringing the Total Fee to RM 170.
- 5 years experience in welding, joining, inspection or related technologies, or
- In possession of a qualification/certification in welding, joining or related technology with 2 years experience, or
- Technician Member of The Welding Institute, United Kingdom (TechWeldI)
Affiliate Member (AWIM)
RM 100/year
One-time Entrance Fee of RM 20, bringing the Total Fee to RM 120.
- No qualification requirements other than an interest in welding, joining, inspection and allied technologies, industry and services.
Student Member (StudWIM)
RM 50/year
Includes a one-time Entrance Fee of RM 20, bringing the Total Fee to RM 70.
- Open to persons undergoing full or part time education in welding, joining or related technologies subject to a limit of 5 years membership.
Corporate
RM 600/year
One-time Entrance Fee of RM 600, bringing the Total Fee to RM 1200.
- Open to all corporations, organisations and partnerships involved in welding, joining, inspection and allied technologies.
