This two days course is designed to give plant personnel a basic knowledge & understanding on many metallurgical aspects, particularly the behaviour of steels and aluminium during welding.
Objectives
Knowledge and understanding of
• the structural and metallurgical changes of steel (carbon alloy/stainless) and aluminium during welding
• material properties and testing
• basic methods of heat treatment
• weldability problems involving ferrous and non-ferrous materials
Contents
•Alloys and phase diagrams • Iron-carbon equilibrium diagrams • Heat treatment • Structure of welded joints • Weldability of carbon and alloy steels • Weldability of stainless steel (ferritic, martensitic, austenitic and duplex) • Weldability of aluminium
Who Should Attend
Engineers, technicians, plant supervisors & QAQC personnel who are involved in welding operations or in industries where welding is widely used in order to enhance their knowledge and understanding of basic welding metallurgy.
