WELDING TECHNOLOGY SEMINAR

Introduction:
This Welding Technology Seminar is organised and conducted jointly by the Welding Institute of Malaysia (WIM) and TWI Ltd, United Kingdom.
The course topics covered in the seminar are:
- Weld Repairs
- Fitness for Service (FFS) - an overview
TWI is a global leader in welding, joining and associated technologies and provides training, research and consultancy services to its members and industry. Respected for its expertise, professionalism, impartiality and confidentiality, TWI works with the most influential companies worldwide across all industry sectors.
WIM is a non- profit membership organisation and society that is dedicated to raise awareness and improve knowledge on the science and practice of welding, joining and related technologies and quality of welding workmanship in Malaysia.
Course 1: Weld Repairs (1 ½ days)
Course description: This course will provide participants with understanding and knowledge on weld repairs in respect of the following:
- requirements and considerations for carrying out repairs
- qualifications for repairs
- preparing method statements
- techniques for repair
- application of industry’s best practices
- case studies on where repairs have gone wrong

- knowledge of assessment techniques for making repairs on different types of damages
